Writing Processes and Adaptation
I am be able to describe and reflect on my writing processes
in order to flexibly adapt them to support my goals.
When I entered this course, I carried with me the belief that I had a firm grasp on writing, a belief shaped by the freedom I enjoyed in high school. There, I was at liberty to select the subject matter of my writing assignments, as long as I adhered to the given guidelines. This freedom allowed me to explore ideas and concepts without any preconceived notions, a practice that significantly influenced my writing style. I learned to identify bias, explore various genres, and interpret information, skills that I believed would serve me well in this course.

In this course, I have been able to expand on my writing processes. I have grown and strengthened my writing by discovering how my identity influences my literary learning. By applying this connection to my writing processes, I have adapted by moving outside my comfort zone of my analytical thinking and writing style. Although not 100%, I am now infusing emotion into my writing, which is reflected in Major Assignment 1 – Personal Narrative.
